£14.99 (ex VAT)

This is the first of several bespoke e-learning packages to support care home staff involved in any aspect of medicines use.

Care home staff who are required to administer or assist with the administration of medication must have completed and satisfactorily passed the appropriate training, such as that provided by this e-learning course.

The course is broken down into thirteen modules including:

  1. Safe use of medicines
  2. Medicines basics
  3. The Medicines Administration Record
  4. General principles of medicines administration
  5. The monthly medicines cycle
  6. Self administration
  7. Administration of PRN medicines
  8. Administration of solid doses
  9. Administration of liquids
  10. Administration of inhalers
  11. Application of topical products
  12. Administration of transdermal patches
  13. Administration of eye drops

There are also three practical case studies to support the learning.

The course should take around 5 hours in total to complete, but we recommend that it is taken in stages and not in a single sitting.

Quizzes at the end of each module will test understanding and recap on key learning points, and a pass mark of 70% is required in the final assessment to complete the course and receive a certificate.

Access to a shorter annual update version of the course is included and can be completed on a yearly basis to refresh your knowledge.

Our user testers say:

“I really enjoyed doing this course. I liked the way it was put into modules and there was a lot of information in each section. It was good to be able to have the ability to stop and start as needed. The testing at the end of each module was a good recap as you worked thru. With the main assessment at the end. Very good training session.”
