This CPD certified e-learning course is aimed at GPs, nurse prescribers, PCN and practice pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, medicines optimisation teams and community pharmacists.

The course is broken down into seven modules including:

  1. Background of asthma
  2. Diagnosis of asthma
  3. Pharmacological management of asthma
  4. Inhaler devices
  5. Managing uncontrolled asthma
  6. Asthma self-management
  7. Monitoring of asthma

There are also two practical case studies to support the course learning.

The course should take around 3-4 hours in total to complete, including self-directed learning from recommended references.

Quizzes at the end of each module will test understanding and recap on key learning points, and a pass mark of 70% is required in the final assessment to complete the course and receive a certificate.
